While having more contents on the home page, for instance, might make it seem to have more to offer, these can also make your home page look very cluttered. What you can do instead is to distribute your contents such that your home page have a neat appearance. This actually goes the same way as to your other pages. Though you might not seem to notice it, your choice of colors for your site also contribute to its ability to attract visitors. One important tip that you should keep in mind is that you should stick only to three to four colors for your site. Any more and this will likely make your site very confusing to viewers' eyes. Also consider your choices of colors and how these are appropriate for your site's content. For instance, neutral colors will suit the image many professional sites would want to convey. On the other hand, vibrant colors will be the right ones for kiddie sites. One must not also not forget the importance of optimization for search engines. How will this be helpful, you might ask. For one, it is the visitors that use the search engines to look up things in the net. Being prominent in the search engines means that people will be able to spot you much quicker and, thus, be encouraged more to head to your site.
